George Gonpu

Professor George Gonpu served as Deputy Minister of Budget in Liberia from 2009-2011. In a letter congratulating professor Gonpu, Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf, Liberia’s president, welcomed Gonpu’s ability to make a “meaningful contribution as we strive to move our country forward in a process aimed at enhancing peace, reconciliation and development.” He has a deep and broad background in the areas of public policy analysis, monetary economics, macroeconomic modeling, and econometrics. He has lectured and published extensively in these areas of interest, and remains active in policy-driven research.
