Okafor Akachukwu

Founder, Change Partners International

Akachukwu Okafor is the founder, and lead consultant at Change Partners International, an energy, environment and sustainability consultancy firm that specializes in helping investors into emerging markets across Africa. He has over 11 years of experience in energy, international development and diplomacy. Akachukwu also serves as a senior energy and policy analyst at Sustivar Energy, a renewable energy company that specialises in designing and deploying renewable energy solutions for agricultural purposes. He is also the Editor, Energy and Environment, at the Initiative for Policy Research and Analysis (InPRA).

He writes regularly on energy, environment and climate issues in Business Day (Nigeria’s top business and financial newspaper) and speaks frequently in the media. Akachukwu have received international awards and recognitions, chaired and spoken at conferences in cities including London, Geneva, Seoul, Brussels, Nairobi, and Accra. He is also a peer reviewer for Energy Research and Social Science journal published by Elsevier. Akachukwu holds a Master of Science in Energy Policy for Sustainability from the University of Sussex, United Kingdom. He is a Mandela-Washington Fellow, and received public management and leadership training from the University of Maine, Orono, USA.
